Dual-clutch service and repair

Porsche PDK Service in Calgary

PDK is Porsche's dual-clutch transmission, and despite the sealed-for-life label it needs fluid service on the factory interval for your model. A PDK service at Alpine Autowerks uses exact-specification fluid, the factory procedure and factory-level tooling for fluid level, adaptation and calibration.

What a PDK service involves

The right tooling is the whole job. This is what goes into a dual-clutch service at our shop.

Exact-specification fluid

Exact-specification fluids only, because "compatible" is how good gearboxes die young.

The factory procedure

Fluid services done with the exact factory procedure, not a drain and guess.

Fluid level and calibration

Modern European transmissions require factory-level equipment for fluid level, adaptation and calibration.

Clutch adaptation

The control unit relearns how each clutch engages, which is what keeps shifts clean after a service.

Mechatronic diagnosis

A factory-level scan, fluid inspection and road test before any conclusion.

Documented in your file

The fluid, the procedure and everything we found, recorded in your service file.

Why have your PDK serviced here

Diagnosis before rebuild talk

Some low-speed behaviour is inherent to the design, some is adaptation drift, and some is early wear. A proper diagnosis separates personality from problem.

Second opinions welcome

Transmission replacements are among the most misdiagnosed repairs in the trade. We verify the finding with evidence either way.

Honest, written estimates

Every quote in plain English before a single bolt turns, and nothing added without your yes.

Independent for over 25 years

Factory-trained technicians who work on these platforms every day, and a Calgary reputation built on telling owners the truth about their cars.

PDK questions

My transmission is sealed for life. Does it really never need service?

Lifetime fill usually means the transmission's lifetime, which the fluid quietly shortens. Fluid ages, and changing it on a sensible interval protects the gearbox.

How often should a PDK be serviced?

On the factory interval for your specific gearbox, which varies by model and use. Send us your VIN and we'll tell you the real number and when it's next due.

My PDK feels jerky at low speed. Is it failing?

Not necessarily. Some low-speed behaviour is inherent to the design, some is adaptation drift, and some is early wear. A proper diagnosis comes before anyone mentions a rebuild.

Do you service other dual-clutch gearboxes?

Yes. We service all makes. European and performance vehicles are our specialty, including DSG and ZF automatics.

Highly recommended. Prices are much better than at the dealership or other specialized Porsche shops. I really appreciate the work Mike and his team did for me. I trust him with my car!

I’ll always trust Mike to work on my Porsches, especially when it comes to track-related stuff. Not only is he a pro with the mechanical work, but he also has an intricate understanding of what it takes to fine-tune a car to perform better at the track based on the customer (driver) and their specific platform.

I recently had an oil change done at Alpine Auto Werks, and honestly, the experience was fantastic. At first, they missed the exact oil amount, so the level was a bit low. But when I returned the next day with a flat tire, they not only patched it for free, they also topped up the oil on the spot. They really went above and beyond. Plus, if you’ve got a European car, this is hands down the best place to get it serviced. These guys are amazing!

Big thank you to Alpine auto for doing some work on my 997, Great service, reliable work and respectable prices. Big shout out to Porsche tech Guguano Holladay who dealt with my concerns, explaining the process and then executing the task. Spent valuable time with me on future concerns I had and recommendations to explore. He’s very knowledgable on the 911’s. Alpine will definitely be my go to Porsche Indy and highly recommend for others. Thank you Barb…
